Final year project the final part
why we made our project:
With the advancements in automation technology nowadays, the involvement of Artificial
Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in everyday tasks is becoming a reality. The
use of such advanced technologies leads to task fulfillment cost and time efficiency. As such,
the use of robotic devices for automated task fulfillment is becoming a must nowadays. This
project focuses on the design and implementation of an autonomous window cleaning robot.
Such a robotic device will replace the way windows are traditionally cleaned with the aid of
humans and make it more time and cost efficient to use the proposed robotic device,
especially in high-rise building scenarios. The proposed robotic device uses ML algorithms
that provide path planning mechanisms prior to initiation and while running. Obstacle
avoidance methods are also incorporated to ensure that path routes are planned to avoid any
known obstacles. Obstacles that are found in real-time would initiate the path planning
algorithm to run iteratively to find more optimal paths in terms of time-efficiency. A plethora
of sensors are used to support the robotic device in path detection and movement.
